1. THE FILES
-------------
In order torun !KeyMouse, you need the following files :
!Boot
!Run
!RunImage
!Sprites
MenuUtils
Templates
2. INTRODUCTION
----------------
You've just unpacked your computer, and you want to use it. However, you
can't find your mouse. What can you do ? You could use the CLI, but it's
clumsy and slow, or you could use !KeyMouse.
Your brother or sister has decided to reset your computer configurations, so
that you can't use the mouse to move to pointer around in order to do
anything to rememdy the problem. So what can you do ? Drop into the CLI,
and load up !KeyMouse and then take full control of the pointer to change
the settings to something useful.
!KeyMouse is a WIMP program designed to allow pointer to be moved using
the keyboard, much in the same way as the Amiga lets you do. This is really
a serious ommision by Acorn, which is dealt with by this program.
3. THE KEYS
------------
In order to move the cursor around, you need to switch off the NumLock key
and use the number keypad. The keys are :
7 - Left mouse button
8 - Move pointer up
9 - Right mouse button
4 - Move pointer left
5 - Middle mouse button
6 - Move pointer right
1 - Reset pointer position to bottom left corner
2 - Move pointer down
In order to see the pointer, you do have to have it switched on!
4. THE OPTIONS
---------------
!KeyMouse has the following options :
Info - This leads to the usuall description of the program
Options - Currently there is only one :
Size of pointer movement, which governs how many pixels the
mouse moves
Quit - Quits program
5. LIMITATIONS
---------------
As the program is a WIMP one, movement can be slow. In addition, any editors
that allow you to use the number keypad to move a cursor around (like !Edit),
will be affected.
In addition, movement via the mouse, will not work properly for a few times
after the keys have been left alone.
6. BUGS
--------
I don't know of any, but if you do find any please let me know.
I have not fully followed Acorn's recommendations for inserting bytes into
the mouse buffer (see above), so in future updates, this should be fixed.
